Microneedling

Dermapen® Microneedling

Dermapen® Microneedling is an advanced skin rejuvenation treatment designed to stimulate collagen production, improve skin texture and support long-term skin renewal.

Also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, the treatment uses a medical-grade microneedling device to create controlled micro-channels within the skin. This natural healing response helps stimulate collagen and elastin production, leaving the skin firmer, smoother and more refined over time.

Microneedling can help improve acne scarring, fine lines, uneven skin tone, enlarged pores and overall skin texture, with minimal downtime and safe treatment for most skin types.

  • Microneedling:
The Dermapen® device uses sterile, disposable needle cartridges to create tiny controlled micro-channels within the skin. This stimulates the skin’s natural repair response and encourages collagen renewal.

    Collagen Stimulation:
The treatment triggers fibroblast activity and growth factors within the skin, helping to regenerate collagen and elastin for firmer, smoother and healthier-looking skin.

    Enhanced Product Absorption
The micro-channels also allow active ingredients to penetrate deeper into the skin for improved hydration and skin rejuvenation.

  • A consultation is free and compulsory before all microneedling treatments.

During your consultation, your skin will be assessed, your concerns and goals discussed, and a personalised treatment plan will be recommended. You will also be given full pre and post-treatment guidelines, which must be followed to ensure the best and safest results.

What makes Dermapen® different from a roller device?

Dermapen® uses a vertical stamping method with sterile disposable needle cartridges, making treatment more precise, comfortable and less damaging to the skin than traditional rollers.

  • Microneedling may not be suitable if you:

    • Are taking Roaccutane or have used it within the last three months

    • Have open wounds, cuts or abrasions

    • Have active skin infections or Herpes Simplex

    • Have chronic skin conditions in the treatment area

    • Have recently had radiation treatment in the area

    • Have poor wound healing or reduced skin sensation

    • Have uncontrolled diabetes

Suitability will always be discussed during your consultation.

  • How many treatments will I need?

The number of sessions varies depending on your skin concerns and goals. Typically, 6 treatments are recommended, spaced 4–6 weeks apart for best results. Results are cumulative over time.

What does the treatment feel like?

Microneedling can be uncomfortable or painful for some clients, depending on the depth and area being treated. A topical numbing cream is available and can be used before treatment to help keep you comfortable throughout the procedure.

    Is there any downtime?

After treatment, the skin may appear red or flushed, similar to mild sunburn, this typically subsides by day 2.  Warmth, tightness or dryness may also occur temporarily before settling.  You can go back to your regular routine after 5 days.

Is microneedling safe for darker skin tones?

Yes. Unlike some laser treatments, microneedling does not use thermal heat, making it suitable for most skin types and tones.

What is the downtime after microneedling?
Most clients experience mild redness for 24–48 hours, similar to light sun exposure. Some dryness or flaking may also occur while the skin renews itself.

    Is microneedling painful?
Microneedling should feel manageable rather than painful. Some areas may feel more sensitive than others, however treatments are performed carefully to keep discomfort to a minimum.

When will I see results from microneedling?
Many clients notice brighter, fresher-looking skin within a few days. Improvements in texture, firmness and overall skin quality continue developing gradually over several weeks as collagen production increases and the skin renews itself.

What does microneedling do for the skin?
Microneedling creates tiny controlled micro-channels in the skin, stimulating the skin’s natural repair response and encouraging collagen and elastin production.

Over time, this can help improve:

    • Skin texture

    • Fine lines

    • Enlarged pores

    • Mild scarring and post-acne marks

    • Overall skin strength and quality

Microneedling works with the skin’s natural renewal processes, helping to support healthier, stronger and more resilient skin over time.

Is microneedling suitable for all skin types?
Microneedling is suitable for most skin types when performed correctly. Your skin will always be assessed beforehand to ensure treatment is safe and appropriate.
